Letting Go of Your Plan & Embracing God's |

The old saying, “Make plans and God laughs,” can feel undeniably true at certain points in our lives. Maybe you wanted to be married before you turned 30 or get a job in the field you actually went to school for. Maybe you wanted to have lots of children or be healthy and active through the aging process.

Well guess what?

Planning is great and important in order to develop and work towards our goals, but when our plans take a detour, we have to learn to go with the flow instead of dragging our feet in the mud.

Maybe life doesn’t look like we thought it would. That’s okay! God has a plan for our life and His ways are far above our own. Whatever is in His will for our life is substantially better than what we could ever create on our own.

We were created to shine wherever life takes us, bloom wherever we are planted, and thrive in the midst of life’s ever-changing reality (easier said than done, am I right).

So, instead of dwelling on what hasn’t gone “right” in our lives, let’s focus on the good of where we are right now.

And when we feel discouraged or worn-out, let's look to scriptures like these to raise our spirits & keep our eyes on the One Who walks with us, hand-in-hand, down every road ...

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

–Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with His promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining Himself on account of you, holding back the end because He doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.

–2 Peter 3:8-9 MSG

Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will.

Then you will receive all that He has promised.

–Hebrews 10:36 NLT

We got this, friend.
